A Certificate of Origin (COO) identifies the country in which exported goods originate. A Ghanaian importer, bank, customs broker or authority may request it with the commercial invoice, packing list and other shipment documents. The required form depends on the goods and import procedure.
Ghana does not appear as a Contracting Party on the current HCCH Apostille Convention status table. Do not assume an apostille is sufficient. The importer or receiving authority should confirm whether chamber certification, MEA attestation and Ghanaian embassy or consular legalization are required.
Important: Trade-document rules can change by shipment, bank and customs procedure. Obtain the current written checklist before submission.
Timing and charges depend on the issuing chamber, certificate format, prior verification, MEA and consular processing, number of documents and delivery. Review is required before giving an estimate.
See our MEA attestation guide, or contact Abrodex with the Ghanaian shipment checklist.
Do not assume so. Ghana is not listed on the current Convention status table; confirm the complete attestation and consular route with the recipient.
A Certificate of Origin is commonly issued or certified by an authorised chamber or designated body. The correct issuer depends on the shipment.
Yes. Exporter, consignee, goods, quantity and origin details should be consistent across the shipment documents.
