Indian Certificate of Origin for Use in Slovakia

A Certificate of Origin may be requested for an Indian export shipment to Slovakia. The exporter should confirm the accepted certificate format and ensure origin, consignee, goods and invoice details are consistent.

India and Slovakia are Contracting Parties to the HCCH Apostille Convention status table. Where the COO qualifies for the Convention route, an apostille generally replaces diplomatic legalization. The Slovak importer, bank or authority must confirm whether it requires an apostille, chamber certification or another trade formality.

Important: Shipment requirements can differ by product and import procedure. Follow the recipient's written checklist.

Recommended process

  1. Confirm the certificate format.
  2. Match all shipment details.
  3. Obtain chamber or issuing-body certification where required.
  4. Complete prior verification and MEA apostille for an eligible document.
  5. Provide any requested translation or supporting papers.
