A marriage registrar or another receiving authority in Myanmar may ask an Indian applicant for proof that they are unmarried or legally free to marry. The required document may be described as a single status certificate, unmarried affidavit, bachelorhood affidavit or marriageability declaration.
Myanmar does not appear as a Contracting Party on the current HCCH Apostille Convention status table. An apostille alone should therefore not be assumed sufficient. Confirm the required notarization, source verification, MEA attestation and Myanmar embassy or consular legalization steps with the authority that will receive the document.
Important: Obtain the exact wording, validity period, witness requirements and accepted language before preparing or signing the document.
Timing and cost depend on drafting, notarization, prior verification, government processing, consular procedure and delivery. A document review is required before quoting.
Review the MEA e-Sanad guidance, see our affidavit authentication guide, or contact Abrodex with the destination checklist.
Do not assume so. Myanmar is not listed on the current Convention status table; confirm the complete attestation and legalization route.
The receiving authority may prescribe a certificate, affidavit or another declaration. Confirm its exact format first.
