A single status certificate or unmarried affidavit records a person's declared marital status. A marriage registrar or another receiving authority in Laos may request this document from an Indian applicant. It may also be called a bachelorhood affidavit, marriageability declaration or no-marriage declaration.
Laos does not appear as a Contracting Party on the current HCCH Apostille Convention status table. Do not assume that an apostille alone will be accepted. The receiving authority should confirm whether Indian authentication, MEA attestation and Lao embassy or consular legalization are required.
Important: Obtain the exact wording, signer, witness, validity and translation requirements from the authority in Laos before preparing the affidavit.
Timing and charges depend on drafting, notarization, prior verification, MEA processing, consular requirements and delivery. A case-specific estimate is provided after the documents and destination checklist are reviewed.
See the affidavit authentication guide, or contact Abrodex with the Lao recipient's instructions.
Do not assume so. Laos is not listed on the current Convention status table, so the receiving authority should confirm the required authentication and consular route.
The authority may request a single status certificate, unmarried affidavit or another prescribed declaration. Confirm the exact format and wording first.
It may be. Confirm the language, translator qualification and certification directly with the receiving authority.
Timing varies with the document source and required government or consular steps. Review is required before estimating.
